“Moments” – An Indian Classical Music Concert
World-Renowned Jaltarang and Tabla Players at the Naperville Cultural Center
Naperville, IL The Naperville Cultural Center is proud to present a special event for everyone to enjoy. The Indian Classical Music concert, featuring Milind Tulankar on Jaltarang and Ramdas Palsule on Tabla, is an opportunity to experience the music and culture of India right here, where you live! Come by on Sunday, May 3rd, from 3:30-5:30pm, for this incredible experience.
The goal of this event is to bring an exchange of diversity through unity under one roof as a complete experience.
Featured at the event is a one-of-a-kind showcase—an ancient instrument called Jaltarang. Jal means water and Tarang means waves. This instrument comprises of China dish bowls filled with water to attain the desired scale. The sound is produced by hitting on the bowls with sticks made up of Nylon. During this event, visiting musicians from India will also interact with audience to educate and demonstrate the art of their craft. There will be an opportunity to experience yoga for meditation and relaxation before the concert as well as time to explore the Naperville Cultural Center and its many crafts, paintings, jewelry and other interesting items for sale. Snacks and drinks will also be included in the $20 admission rate. Children under 14, accompanied by an adult, are free!

About Milind Tulankar: Milind Tulankar is one of India’s finest Jaltarang artistes. His late grand father Pandit Shankar Kanhere who was a famous Jaltarang player influenced Milind in taking up this unusual dying instrument. Presently he is a disciple of Sitar maestro Ustad Shahid Parwez.
About Ramdas Palsule: Ramdas Palsule is a very familiar name to the worshippers of Hindustani music as an intellectual Tabla Player who has carved a niche for himself at a very young age. Having achieved a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Ramdas has been recognized as one of the most senior disciples of World Famous Tabla Maestro, Taalyogi Pandit Suresh Talwalkar.
