Grazina Asakeniene on the Radio

Grazina Asakeniene, award winning dance instructor, will be featured in an interview that will be broadcast on Studija R (WNWI 1080 AM).

Grazina teaches the Lithuanian Folk Dancing class that begins here at the Cultural Center on Saturday, January 14th. Her students will learn the basics of folk dances, games and Lithuanian traditions and customs. Response to our Lithuanian language, movement and culture programs has been phenomenal because they welcome the Lithuanian population in our area to share their stories and history with their children, thus passing on their rich heritage to the next generation.

Lithuanian Folk Dancing for ages 6 to 10 year olds will be held on Saturdays starting January 14th from 2:00 to 3:00pm. To register for the class, call us at 630.696.4177.

Studija R may be heard at station 1080 AM or online at www.laikas.com. Special thanks to Raymond Lapas for his support.

So Much Goin' On!

Lot's of really cool stuff coming up! I wish I had a place like this to go to when I was a kid! We got some new stuff in from India thanks to Stacey Reeves and Shoba! Cool batiks and new yoga mat bags, mats and palm leaf book marks! Plus the new Angel cards and Fairy cards that Pam ordered! Really inspiring! Pick a new message for every day! Especially in the dark winter months it is so important to keep healthy in mind, body and Spirit! Keeping up with the yoga practice, getting out, painting, writing, being happy & keeping busy! We have new art on the walls! Amazing - you wouldn't believe how interesting! They are paper cut snowflakes - yep, the same kind we all make when we are kids... Except... Well - you are just going to have to come in and see! They're amazing! Our artisit is Les Barker, and he has made American Flyer Sled snowflakes, Cathedral window snowflakes, Angel snowflakes - he even has a White Sox snowflake! Check our his website for images: www.kahnjee.com. Les will be doing demonstrations and activities during our Open House Saturday, December 17th! Be sure to stop by...
